[Review] The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
Hello everyone!
Welcome to my blog again.. where all my interest are stored.
Are you a skincare lovers?
If you are,
then come and join my blog! :)
Today I’m going to present you guys my another favourite toner that I accidentally found and I fell for it unconditionally. Because of its low price, I bought it on cultbeauty.com with other the ordinary products, but I do less research about it before purchase. - it’s a bad habit :(
This ‘The ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning solution’ is one of my favourite toner apart from Benton and Cosrx and, also, it is called as a DUPE for Pixi glow tonic.
It has been claimed that this toner gently exfoliate your skin in order to boost radiance, visibly restore clarity, and improve skin texture. Although its effect is to exfoliate, but it causes less irritation.
However..
‘This toner should not be used on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin’
- Cultbeuty
Here’s what the ingrediants inside this toning solution.

Glycolic Acid
Have you ever heard of AHAs?
Of course! Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecule in AHAs which can absorb into your skin better than other acids in AHAs family. It is found in sugar cane.
- It helps exfoliate dead skin cells; however,
- It helps hydrates your skin, while
- It helps stimulate collagen in skin
- It helps prevent hyperpigmentation
Well, this type of acid work best especially for dry and sun-damaged skin :)
(For more information about this acid:
Histidine/ Glycine/ Arginine/ Proline
Does it sound strange right?
Well.. those ingredients above are the members of Amino acids from protein digestion helping our body build enzyme and activate immune system.
How it advantage for skin?
- Arginine: heals skin damage
- Glycine and Proline: helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
- Histidine: contains antioxidant in order to fight wrinkles and soothe skin

Direction
Actually, I ideally use this toning solution on my skincare night routine and never use it more than once a day. After washing my face with oil and water-based cleanser, I use it on the cotton pad and gently apply on my whole face.
This product doesn’t have to rinse off after apply, and should avoid contact near eye areas (because it can cause irritation according to AHAs)
Don’t forgot to wear a sunscreen in morning (AHAs increase your skin’s sun sensitivity, so it can cause redness or sunburn)
Package
This Toning solution comes with a clear plastic bottles (containing 240 ml. toner) and two cover which one is for putting away and another is for using.
According to the size of bottles, It fits my hand and easy to press but it is not convenient to use for travel :( I have to buy travel kit bottles separately.
Plus, the product clearly shows the direction of use, Caution, Manufacturing date, Expiry date, and Product Shelf life.
Ps. Product shelf life is important! don’t forget to write down the open date to remind yourself !!!

Well... This Toner does work with my skin, but my skin is oily and acne-prone skin, so the acid that suits my skin better is BHA or Beta Hydroxy Acid (FYI. BHA is good at unclog pore and acne prone skin). It doesn’t break me out, but it is not the best toner for me, so it will be my very first and last time using this one :(
Where to buy the product?
Yeap! I bought it online..
I bought this toner and other the ordinary products from this site
Cultbeauty.com
The product is packed not quite strongly, but the product arrived without any broken one.
That’s all my review and I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
