Hello MVP!
[Review] The Ordinary Lactic Acid  5 % + HA

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my blog again..
Where all my interest are stored.
Are you a skincare lovers?
If you are,
then come and join my blog! :)

I will tell the story of this tiny magical bottles to you :)

What is The ordinary Skincare?
‘Clinical Formulations with Integrity’ - Have you ever seen this phrase before?
It is shown up on every the ordinary skincare product which means that this is a collection of treatment offering clinical technologies to increase the integrity of skincare in an area of pricing and communication.

Have you everr heard of DECIEM? Well, The Ordinary is a branch of brand called DECIEM which produces a skincare without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, animal oil, and so on. and, plus, the product does not test on animals.

About the product itself?
Lactic Acid 5% + HA is a mild lactic acid peeling formulation with
ph 3.60-3.80, alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, and cruelty-free.
It is called a mild exfoliator because of its 5% formulation.
(but The ordinary still has a stronger formulation available in 10% of lactic acid)

Lactic Acid: Also known as an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA).
It is a natural acid gained from milk, and other plants and used in many skincare to reduce aging and chemically peel dead skin.
Apart from other AHAs, Lactic Acid is less irritating and more gentle.
But as long as you wear a sun protection, it’s safe to use the acid.

While we talk about acid, people may think about the irritation of using acid,
but this product contains ‘Tasmanian Pepperberry’ which helps reduce the sign of irritation on skin.

What is actually contained inside it?
Aqua (Water), Lactic Acid, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Isoceteth-20, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol

How to use it? Once or Twice a day?
The product must be applied ONCE a day on PM, or Night routine.
Using it about 2-3 drops per day and avoid contact with eye areas.
Wearing sunscreen on AM, or Morning routine after the night you used the product.
(If any irritation appears on the skin surface, stop using and consult to the dermatologist immediately.)

For more what I wrote about the ordinary product?

Now,
How do I feel after trying this product for a month?

I rate this product 4 out of 5
★★★★
(Approximately) $10

Let’s me explain.
  • This lactic acid is a mild peeling formulation which less irritated my skin. (It still irritated but less than other acid I have used)
  • Its ability is to exfoliate, but it helps my skin hydrated because of HA (Hyaluronic Acid) included in the product.

Hyaluronic Acid: A carbohydrate molecule that helps provide moisture to your skin and it is great in anti-aging.

  • The convenience to use because the applicator is a dropping applicator, so it’s a piece of cake to calculate how much the product I want to use.
  • Its tiny bottle is comfortable to grab anywhere.
  • Price is extremely reasonable compared to the 30ml of the product. The price is remarkably reasonable.
  • Personally, the minimal packaging of the product has stolen my heart at first sight, so after I research about the brand and found out its ability, I bought it right away.
Am I going to buy it again?
Well, I will think about it later if I can’t find any other product like this one.
P.s. My face is recently weak and sensitive to every direct acid so I discontinue use it. Sadly :(

Where to find and buy the product?
Cult beauty is the only platform where all my the ordinary products are bought.
The site is simple to use and I got an offer for free shipping on order over £40.
They took about 10 business days to deliver the goods, but unfortunately the products weren’t packed densely while the product is fragile.

That’s all my review and hope you enjoy reading my blog!

  1. Even though it's a milder AHA exfoliant, you shouldn't use lactic acid too frequently. You risk over-exfoliating your skin and messing with its natural barrier. Consider using this effective skin resurfacing ingredient every other night unless your doctor says otherwise.
